1. How Long Have you Been in Business?
Special Occasions DJ & Lighting has been one of the the leading DJ, Sound and Lighting companies in Southern California for the last 20 years. We specialize in big fat South Asian weddings but also do corporate events all the time.
We have done over 1000 events and helped make fun, long lasting memories for over 700 bride and grooms.
2. Do you only do Indian Weddings?
Of course not. We also do Persian Weddings, Anniversary Parties, Corporate events, Holiday parties, concerts, dance floor rentals, LED and Video Wall displays, emcee entertainers, photo booths and much more.
3. Why can’t you just give me a quote?
We are the most transparent in the industry a we actually have posts and even a video on how much Indian DJs cost.
But hiring a full service DJ, Sound and Lighting company is always going to vary based on your number of guests, the location, time of year, the specific DJ you want, the insurance required by your venue, the state’s day event laws, and various other factors.
We could tell you “between $4,000 and $40,000” but we in order to give you a confident range we need about 5 to 10 questions answered.
4. You’re not that cheap.
Yes, we are not the lowest cost in California and we’re also probably not the most expensive (hello corporate event DJs).
However each of our DJs has done over 100 Indian and South Asian weddings and will likely leave your friends and family talking about how much fun your wedding was for years to come.
If you want to ensure the entire wedding exercise ends with a bang you should hire someone who knows what they’re doing.
However if the dancing or party energy is not as important as say the food or fashion (such as in Pakistani weddings), then yes please feel free to hire your entertainment according to price.

5. Can you help me with music editing?
100%. Just ask us.
6. Can you help with a hotel or wedding planner?
100%. We have sister companies that do end to end wedding planning, however we do assist with hotel negotiations, destination wedding planning and referrals.
Our vendor network is over 20 years and going and you will get the prices and packages via asking us to connect you. Feel free! This industry works on word of mouth and we’re happy to help you get the best bang for your buck. We’ll also tell you who we personally think are the best photographers or coordinators in any city.
